RASTA, an acronym for Resource centre for Asphalt and Soil Training Academy, is the Center for Road Technology started in the year 2002 at Bangalore, India. RASTA is an initiative of the VOLVO Group, India, to bridge the knowledge gap between the academic learning and the industry needs, with more focus on hands on experience. RASTA is an independent, expert Institute on Road building process and a non-profit organization, managed by an Independent Trust of Volvo India Pvt Ltd.

Equipped with modern material testing equipment for testing soil, aggregates, bituminous mixer, modified bituminous binders, cement, cement concrete.
Library
The library has over 2500 publications, including technical publications, including technical specifications and standards.
Classrooms
RASTA enabled Classrooms and Seminar Halls are the places where the effective teaching learning takes place.
ACADEMIC
RASTA an Extension and Research Centre of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), one of the largest Technological Universities in India, is offering post graduate courses and Ph.D programs for Civil Engineering graduates. The purpose of the PG Courses is to train the students with a curriculum that emphasizes on practical training, thus churn out competent highway engineers befitting industry needs.
